The North Face designed its 31-liter Surge backpack for commuters, but it's versatile enough for just about anything. The travel-specific features, though, are killer. Like a TSA-friendly padded 15" laptop sleeve that unfolds flat. The front compartment has an additional padded tablet sleeve, an additional fleece-lined media pocket, a secure zippered pocket, and elastic webbing to keep your cords from tangling. There's also an external fleece-lined pockets for electronics or glasses, two external mesh water bottle pockets that double as multi-use pockets, a removable waist belt to keep your pack secured, and a reflective bike light loop, water bottle tabs, and shoulder strap webbing keep you visible.
